My students need math manipulatives, games, subsidizing cards, and various other math manipulatives to use in more meaningful math intervention centers to help develop number sense and how to structure numbers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have so much love for math and science. They are excited, intelligent, and eager to learn each day. In 2nd grade, it is extremely important to build those foundational skills that children will carry on for the rest of their educational careers. My students love solving creative word problems, play, have fun, and be engaged in hands-on activities.
Our classroom is overloaded with hard-working, loving, and devoted students who are always excited to learn new things.
They love to dance, read, try new things, and love lots of positive attention and praise. Many of my students are being raised in single family households and have a variety of factors that may prevent them from getting ahead early in life, but they surprise me every day with their positive attitudes and growth.
My Project
Math manipulatives, games, puzzles, and activities enhance learning by providing hands-on, engaging math centers that students will use to support their learning. I will also use these materials as I work with small groups of learners in an effort to differentiate instruction during math workshop. With the use of manipulatives and games, learning will be more relevant for my students. My students will be motivated to do math and see it as a "fun" activity, which will set them up for success in my class and in their futures. These centers will cover different topics of instruction such as: structuring numbers, addition and subtraction, measurement, geometry, time, and money.
