My Students

My class ranges from kindergarten to 5th grade students who have a variety of different needs. Each student is unique and each lesson I create is handcrafted to fit their personal needs and learning style!

I have been working for the Mill Valley School district for two years and have had many wonderful opportunities to collaborate with my colleagues about math programs that really work for our special education population.

Each teacher has recommend Making Math Real… I am determined to learn the program to help my students learn math in a way that is fun and valuable.

My Project

Making Math Real: Games! will teach me how to make, play and manage indoor and outdoor math games including card games, board games; and games with spinners and dice. Outdoor games include ball games, court games, jump rope games, bean bag games, and many more. In addition, I will learn how to configure these games for whole-class, small group, and individual students. The methods and techniques I will learn are designed to support the full diversity of processing styles.

After I learn how to teach the many games offered by Making Math Real, I will be able to create games that maximize my students time and help them practice fundamental math skills in a creative and fun way!
