Our students are hardworking learners who love to explore and problem solve. We spend a great deal of our time collaborating and working together to learn from each other. They enjoy working hard and doing their best. We set goals every day to help them continuously grow and improve. We strive to have a good work ethic and do our best on everything.
They love to read, work independently, and ask deep questions.
We have great conversations about various curiosities that come up and questions they have about the world around them. We especially love talking about history and various events that happened and how they relate to our lives today.
My Project
We as a fifth grade are asking for math and science manipulatives for our school. We will use them to enrich our students' math learning. We are specifically using these materials for fractions and decimals which are the big things we learn in fifth grade. We are trying to build their concrete understanding so we can build up their conceptual understanding as well. We are planning to use fraction bars and circles to help them physically manipulate fraction concepts. For science we want to get hands-on electrical circuit kits to help our students explore electricity and make connections between electricity and magnetism properties.
