Help me give my students more hands-on experiences in Math and Science. The tablets will be used in small group centers, and the math and science materials will enhance learning.
Our school is in a very diverse part of the Bay Area. We have many different cultures that attend our school which allows all cultures to intermingle and learn all about one another. What is so amazing and wonderful about our school is our student parents love to volunteer. Parents will volunteer in the classroom, for school-wide events, to help out for supervision, and they volunteer to drive for field trips. Our school is a larger school having Kindergarten through Fifth Grade along with Special Day Classes and a Transitional Kindergarten class as well. Our school district is one of the fastest growing districts around which also provides some challenges.
My Project
These materials will be used in my second grade classroom at JG Elementary School. Our class has twenty-eight students so having access to hands on learning and technology for every student all the time becomes a challenge.
The students will have an opportunity to go hands on with their learning.
The Kindle Fire tablets will be used in small group centers work for students to research new and exciting topics. They will also be able to access district adopted websites and curriculum easier and quicker. The circuits will be used during our physical science units of learning during our second trimester. The students will be able to explore hands on materials. The math ten frames and tiles will give all my students a chance to grow in two very important areas of second grade mathematics, geometry and place value in a hands on way.
