My Students
My students come to class every day eager to learn and share what they are learning. They come in excited and eager to be first in the classroom. A few students have brought in their younger siblings to show them around.
I work at a Title I school and therefore all students receive free breakfast and lunch.
The majority of my students have limited personal experiences and the majority are reading below grade level. These reluctant readers need a variety of resources to stay motivated.
My Project
My students will be able to read more comfortably upon a carpet rather than the plain floor. These readers are Pete the Cat vowel focused books and my students love Pete the Cat books. The books are illustrated with the 2nd grade student in mind therefore very enticing for them. The Math activities will provide instant feedback to the students. They will then know how well they did. This will then become an encouragement for them to continue to surpass their own goals. My students have become responsible learners. The colorful storage containers will assist them with organizing their activities and books.
