Help me give my students the skills they need to become better readers and to develop the skills they need in math in order to succeed in their general education classes.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach students with learning disabilities in reading and math. They are from a low economic background. We are a Title I school. In order for them to learn, they need visual aids and headphones for working on their auditory discrimination. They also need iPads to run their reading and math programs.
Most programs they currently use have a reading component where the program reads aloud to them.
This helps them enhance their reading skills. My students enjoy technology and hands-on activities. Many are auditory learners. They learn best through listening and manipulatives.
My Project
These materials will help strengthen my students' foundational skills which they will need in order to be successful in their regular education classes. My students need to improve their reading comprehension and math skills.
My students learn best through educational games.
These games for reading will help improve their reading comprehension. In math, my students struggle with basic math facts like multiplication and division. They need these skills in order to be successful in their general education math classes. These electronic multiplication games will help them memorize their multiplication facts.
