I teach 22 amazing first grade students. My teaching philosophy is a hands-on approach. I feel students learn when they have an opportunity to manipulate objects and make their own discoveries.
However, making hands-on materials take up a great deal of space.
I am looking to purchase cases to hold my materials. The cases would be most helpful to organize my centers so the students could easily access the supplies and when they have finished they can independently store the materials back on the shelf for other students.
Craft storage containers are easy for all students to access. The containers can easily be stacked so they take up less shelf space but are accessible to my students. Each container will be clearly labeled but they are also transparent so they students can see the materials inside.
Inside the containers will be a math or literacy activity for my students to complete.
Each container will have a different objective and each activity will be leveled so I can differentiate to all students. Students can complete the activities at their own pace. The storage case activities will be reinforcement activities to help students retain information previously taught.
