This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My pre-kindergarten students are four and five years old, and they love to explore and learn about the world around them through play and hands-on lessons.
There are 22 students in my class, and they are part of a diverse school community located in the inner city.
Many of the students in my classroom speak languages other than English at home.
They are enthusiastic learners who come to school excited to participate in our day-to-day classroom routines and activities. I strive to make my classroom environment one in which each student feels respected, valued, and able to take academic and social-emotional risks each day.
My Project
These games, center activities, and manipulatives are all designed for student-centered, hands-on work that will engage my children in essential skill practice as we build a foundation for a lifetime of learning!
Skills these activities focus on include alphabet and number recognition, phonemic awareness, sorting and counting, and much more!
Learning should be fun and engaging, and these math and literacy activities will allow us to use a variety of learning styles to meet the varied levels of need seen in our pre-kindergarten classroom. Many of these materials allow for small group, individual or partner work depending on the needs of specific students.
