Our fourth graders are eager learners and love interactions with other students. Students at our school cannot provide some of the basic materials such as notebooks, paper, and folders to start off the school year. The students require many supplemental materials to help them acquire a new language and environment.
Our fun-loving students enjoy learning in and outside of the classroom.
They have a passion for learning about math and science, especially reading and learning about any science-related topics. They enjoy any hands-on activities and are great problem solvers.
Our students love learning using hands on manipulative in our classroom and they gravitate to activities that can help them understand spatial awareness, cooperation and most importantly creativity. Part of our math learning in the classroom is to let students explore their creativity through construction, teamwork and cooperation. These materials will further enhance their learning abilities and engage learning in a fun way.
Students love using Keva planks during math exploration and other math games.
Each day students cooperate, design and create new creations with others using planks. Often more planks are needed as students expand their designs, so by providing students with more planks, they can create more designs.
I have seen how math materials can positively affect my students’ creativity and teach them how to cooperate with others and these materials will help them grow even more.
