My students are an amazing group of diverse kindergartners.
They attend a Title I school in North Carolina where 100% receive free lunch and breakfast.
Many of our children have limited exposure to anything outside of their neighborhoods. However, they are sponges just wanting to have the opportunity to soak up everything available to them. They are very inquisitive about the world and how things work. That is why we need to provide them with every opportunity available to help them learn about the world we live in, not just their neighborhood.
My Project
It is my desire to provide them with every opportunity available to help them enjoy learning. That is why I am requesting pillows, clamps, tape, window film, and book baskets to organize our classroom so they children can continue to learn.
Kindergarten has become so overwhelmed with academics that we sometimes forget that these children are just that children and they need to enjoy learning.
These materials will help me to organize our room and provide the children with many opportunities to learn. We need window film to put on our windows to block out the sun and heat so we can learn in a comfortable environment. The pillows will give the children an area to be comfortable as they read to themselves. The more comfortable they are the easier it is for them to stay engaged in their reading. We need tape and clamps to hang up our charts and provide a visual model for the children to reference. The book baskets will be used to organize our books and Legos. It is my hope that these materials will help to organize our room and help the children learn in a fun and exciting way.
