Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 1st grade classroom is a fun and engaging environment filled with technology, small group learning all day long, centers, and learning games for my first graders to enjoy. During our day we have small group rotations where all my students are able to work at their ability levels.
My 1st graders love school and love to learn!
My students come from a Title I school were many students receive free or reduced-price lunches. They love playing games and often times do not realize those games are actually practicing an essential skill. They enjoy playing games during our small group rotations.
My Project
My students need an ink jet printer, ink cartridges, photo paper, a laminator, and laminator pouches. With these items, my students will be able to play colorful and sturdy games throughout the year. Instead of our games being black and white, we will be able to print fun and colorful games, which will engage my students more. In addition, my students will be able to play the games over and over again without worries about them getting damaged since they will be laminated. My students will play various games to reinforce skills in math, reading, STEM units, and writing.
Your donation will impact my students' progress this year.
It will ignite a love for learning because they will be playing fun and colorful games that are reinforcing skills. Research has shown that worksheets don't benefit students' learning. These engaging and fun games that I will be able to create will allow for my students to be constantly reviewing skills throughout the year without a worksheet.
