My Students
Our school is a Magnet School in Indiana. My classroom of 9 students with moderate to severe cognitive disabilities is focused on life skills and independence. Students in my classroom have various skill levels and everyone displays different strengths.
My students are fun, loving, and smart individuals that inspire me every day.
They like to sing, dance, give hugs and play board games with their peers. Our school is a happy environment filled with educators that truly enjoy working with students and watching them achieve their goals.
My Project
A syphon for maintenance on our classroom aquarium is needed. Not only do my students love our fish tank as it is calming and fun to look at, but they also learn responsibility. We learn to feed, care for, and clean the area. Our tank has seen better days, and our own syphon (instead of borrowing from others) will help our aquarium thrive!
As a special education teacher, I am always creating interactive activities for my students to use year after year.
Velcro and lamination pouches, are always needed in my classroom! Lamination helps activities stay looking new, and by using lamination, Velcro, and a lot of teacher time (and cutting), I can create interactive books for my non-readers!
