My students are unlike any other group of children that I have ever worked with before. They are talented and willing to work hard in order to succeed in the classroom and in their lives. They come to school with a variety of knowledge and experiences that allows for in-depth conversations throughout our class time.

Materials, such as pens and highlighters, will make a difference in my students' learning by giving them basic necessities in the classroom. They will be used specifically for teaching annotating and close reading skills and for classroom organization.
