The students in my history class are working hard to get smart every single day.
They have achieved significant academic gains in social studies for the past two years, and we are all excited to do it again for a third year. Successfully completing three years of social studies is one of the key requirements for attending college in California!
My Project
My students strive to stay organized in our class. For students with learning disabilities and ADHD, organization is often one of the most challenging skills to learn. With a variety of paper colors, I can create coordinated handouts that my students keep in their binders (pink is for vocabulary, yellow is homework, blue is review, white is notes). This system has helped my students tremendously, and they want to stick with it - so I need more paper! We also need a few basic supplies to keep our classroom creative and fun through hands-on projects and collaboration.
My students are ready to learn and show themselves (and everyone else) that they are ready to master 80% of the social studies standards for a third year in a row.
