My students need essential school supplies like paper clips, staples, pencils, Clorox wipes and more to increase speech and language skills in the classroom.
In Bossier Parish, we have 31 Speech Language Pathologist (SLPs) that service students from PK-12th grade. These 31 SLPs provide therapy for over 1,500 students within Bossier Parish who present with an articulation, expressive/receptive language, fluency, and/or voice disorders. You can find these students in any elementary, middle, or high school.
These speech kiddos are humble, kind, and love learning and improving their speech and language skills.
The speech therapy setting is a "hub" for students who are in need of increasing their speech and language skills. Students across the parish visit the speech therapy room at least 1-2 times a week for a variety of delays and disorders that impede performance in their classroom setting, home, and other natural environments.
My Project
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Bossier Parish buy hundreds of dollars of school supplies for their students and classroom throughout the year. SLPs in Bossier Parish would benefit from having classroom essentials that they can not live without. These essentials include a stapler, sticky notes, paper clips, pens, pencils, notebooks, label maker, clorox wipes, etc. Students often show up to therapy without pencils. Sticky notes are often used to organize students thoughts and recall events in sequential order. Furthermore, colored markers are used to designate specific parts of speech.
These essential materials will help both students and the SLP in the speech/language classroom ride through the rest of the school year and make it amazing.
