Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
One Friday, my 4th grade students and I left our classroom... and didn't come back. I wish I had known I needed to take all my teaching supplies with me!
I'm currently teaching from home with my laptop but need additional supplies to make some 'teaching magic'!
Our classroom is a vibrant place where we emphasize college readiness and integrate technology into our learning. My students are mainly lower socio-economic status and I also have a cluster of students in special education.
My Project
Please help my students learn from home as we accomplish several objectives to get ready for 5th grade... and eventually college. First, I would like picture books to do daily 'read alouds' to increase reading comprehension and pique student interest in quality literature. I've chosen several acclaimed read alouds that concentrate on social-emotional learning and empathy in an effort to create meaningful discussions in a time of crisis. Second, I need basic supplies like chart paper. Last, I need demonstration manipultitves for the last math units we missed before our school closed.
