This school year I am teaching transitional kindergarten and kindergarten to 24 eager and enthusiastic learners. My class varies in level of school readiness and learning styles. My students range from the high achieving to at-risk and special education and everyone in between.
Kindergartners are energetic, creative, and eager to explore.
It is important for them to have access to materials that can help develop their skills such as communicating, problem solving, and creative thinking that will prepare them for their future.
My Project
It's time to update and restock some materials for our classroom. We need two new storage racks to hold our book bags for reading workshop. We need headphones for our computer center to engage in reading and math games. We need more non-fiction books to learn about the exciting world around us. We need lower case magnetic letters and find alphabet cards to learn our ABC's and to build our word knowledge. We need journals to have a place to record our thinking and our learning.
All these materials will contribute to an engaging classroom for our new kindergarten students.
