My students come from a variety of backgrounds with about half coming from low-income homes. Many of my students come from military families stationed nearby. My students are always eager to learn and take every opportunity to better themselves. Their desire to learn inspires me to do whatever I can to provide them the resources they need to be successful.
Activities that inspire students to solve real problems help to create leaders that are prepared to solve problems.
Most of my class is based on projects. My students love to explore, create, and learn from their experiences.
My Project
These materials will help get a real maker space started. We design and build things nearly everyday and these basic materials will help us start a real maker space. Since space is always limited, the shelf will give us the space to store our building materials.
Students that can design and build are also problem solvers.
The materials that I've selected are items that can be used in a variety of projects. We plan on building items such as children's toys, kites, and even a foot brace. With these items my students will be able to use their imagination and create almost anything.
