Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The scholars at our school are hard workers at an urban, inner-city school. Most of my scholars qualify to receive free breakfast and lunch. More than half of my students come from families where English is not the first language, and in many cases, school is their only exposure to English and to learning math and reading skills. The mission of our school is to provide a purpose-driven, culturally responsive learning environment that challenges scholars academically while supporting their social and emotional growth in order to develop conscientious citizens who transform their communities.
My Project
This project contains materials that we go through the fastest. We use pencils, erasers, and dry erase markers daily in our classroom. We go through them very quickly. I believe that the materials on this list will last us through this year.
The more to this project are snacks for the scholars.
I want to be able to provide a healthy snack to my scholars when they need it. They are always asking me for snacks and we all know that a child is not able to learn while hungry. I want to make sure that all of my scholars have what they need in order to be successful! Snacks also are something that my scholars really look forward to. With this project, we will be able to have multiple snack days this year.
