Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are learning the core values and what it means to be a positive role model for their family, community, and peers. These students, from low income families, strive every day to break down barriers to achieve success. Somehow, they maintain an enthusiastic spirit. Their energy and excitement about learning is contagious, making me want to go above and beyond to support these students.
These students are amazing and deserve every opportunity to reach their dreams.
I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that these students will do great things in the world. Each student has a unique talent, skill, or quirk that will serve to better the lives of others.
My Project
Every year families do their best to provide the classroom materials requested on the supply list and teachers do their best to supplement the missing materials. This year we are in need of some basic materials that we use regularly. We need different colored highlighters to color code student writing. We need post it notes to annotate texts. We need scissors and glue to create projects and engaging notes for students to want to refer back to them.
We are quickly running out of some basic classroom needs.
It is only second quarter and we are already short supplies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
