My Students

We are a Title 1 school servicing about 430 students. I work as a Special Education Teacher and provide reading intervention. Many of our students come from a single parent home with little or no parent involvement. I work with the students on IEPs and performing below grade level.

Reading intervention provides students with the opportunity to reading, writing, and study skills on their academic level.

We work in small groups to meet the individual needs of the students. My students are eager to learn and work hard to improve their levels.

My Project

I see small groups of students throughout the entire day. They are all below grade level learners. We work in small groups while others students are working independently. Providing reading intervention helps meet individual needs for those low performing students. The pace and content of the class is modified to allow for different learning. These VersaTiles will allow independent learners a screen free, hands on activity while I work with the group.

VersaTiles help build literacy, vocabulary, phonics, and fluency.

It is a self-checking answer system that creates a safe learning environment that increases student confidence.
