This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Sing, say, dance, and play! Every day an exciting adventure awaits my students when they enter my music classroom, a.k.a. Ms. K.'s House of Music. We sing, say, dance, and play to experience music at its fullest!
I teach music to sixth-eighth grade students in a STEAM public school in Missouri.
My students range from middle class to poverty level, and some also experience violence in their neighborhoods on a daily basis. Sometimes music is the only solace to their day.
Despite their economic differences, all of my students are eager to express themselves through music. Every day they enter the music room with excitement and an eagerness to learn.
My Project
My music students often work in small groups to create, compose, improvise, and discuss. We need dry erase sheets, markers, and erasers to put on our tables so that all of the students can contribute to their masterpieces!
If my music students had dry erase sheets to put on their tables, then they could collaborate as a group to express their thoughts through writing directly on our music tables.
Imagine the fun and learning that will happen when they have a large space where they can write and tweak their ideas! Thank you for considering to help my students make their masterpieces!
