My students come excited to learn in two languages. Parents voted a few years ago to have uniforms as the dress code for the students. This helps students to stay focus on learning and provides a positive learning environment for each student. They are in the Spanish Immersion Dual Language classroom. They come from a diverse cultural, linguistic, and economic background. More than 85% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My bright students get an opportunity to learn English and Spanish literacy every day, Math in English and Science in Spanish. 25% of my students' first language is English, and 50% of my students' first language is Spanish, and 25% speak another language. They all share the journey to graduate from high school bicultural, bilingual, and bi-literate and it all begins in my kindergarten classroom.
My students need tempera paints in different colors to crate masterpieces during our bilingual centers.
The art cart will support student to have access to many different art supplies everyday to support their creativity during our bilingual centers and the tempera paint will provide endless choices of paint.
My students would be take home their paintings after they dried to be displayed with pride at home. The right tools at my students hands will encourage more creativity. There is so much to express and art is a wonderful way to express each student's uniqueness. They love creating as much as they enjoy learning at school.
