When most students think of math, they think of boring, lecture, homework; in my classroom we learn math differently. Math is a hands on class where we discover how numbers are in our lives everyday and where different concepts actually originate.
My students are awesome!
They come from a lower income community where we are on a tight budget for classroom supplies. By donating to this project we would be able to acquire some new supplies and materials needed to help them explore and discover. The students have a desire to learn and when I put a project in front of them they are elated and can't wait to learn.
My Project
As a teacher I want to give my students the world, unfortunately while on a tight budget this is not possible without people like you. The math materials we are requesting will help my students learn geometry, algebra, measurement, and strategy. By being able to see a shape, compare an amount of liquid, and strategize to win a game the students are learning and most of the time do not even realize it. We are requesting books, measuring materials, compasses, and math games.
This project is important because you can make a difference!
You can be an inspiration to my students. When you donate you are being an example of how our students can reach out to others like you have reached out to us! You are showing them that there are people who care about them. And, you are helping me to be the best teacher I can be by providing my students with supplies I wouldn't be able to buy for them.
