Greetings! I teach a wonderful group of first grade students in a large urban school district. My students are culturally and academically diverse, with various learning styles. What they all have in common, though, is their love of learning!

In first grade, it is imperative that students master basic skills necessary to support and enhance their learning as they move into higher grades. The 3 Rs- "reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic" is the primary focus of our teaching and learning all year long. In order to supplement our current math curriculum and to ensure that all students are mastering the basic skills, we need additional math manipulatives and games.

I hope to obtain large math teaching manipulatives (Giant Magnetic Math and Overhead Manipulatives Kit) for whole class instruction at the magnetic white board and overhead projector. Using the At-My-Seat Games Library, students will reinforce basic skills independently and at their own pace. The set of Math Bingo Games will help students practice their math skills in a fun and non-intimidating way.
