My students need Math software and hands on Math materials to understand new concepts, use in independent math centers, and to increase problem solving skills!

I am the proud teacher of energetic and enthusiastic third grade students. Our school is a Title I school and the majority of my students receive free lunch. My students are very excited about math and want work hard to learn math skills. I want them to be motivated daily to master new skills.
The school that I teach at is a predominately African American school that is low income.
The school is on the verge of being taken over by the state due to our deficiency in test scores. Our school does not have very much funding for extra materials for the students and I am extremely passionate about getting my students to learn to their fullest potential. We have low parental involvement and the students are seeking attention by displaying negative behavior to try to achieve it. I gear everything I do throughout the day to get my students to enjoy and have a positive experience from school. I feel that hands-on manipulatives will keep my students actively engaged in learning new math skills while keeping their behavior problems to a minimum.
I am requesting math teaching manipulatives for whole class demonstrations and hands-on learning. The large magnetic manipulatives will make math concepts easy to see and easy to understand. The pieces will be easy to grab and manipulate while providing the students concrete practice with different math skills including place value, regrouping and fractions. My students will receive an exciting way to master math concepts while I will be able to assess all my students at once.
Manipulatives are geared to help students develop understanding of mathematical ideas by representing the ideas in multiple ways.
Not all students learn in the same manner so manipulatives help enhance understanding and enable the students to better grasp the concept at hand. My students are in dire need of a variety of hands-on tools to master math skills and I am hoping to be able to incorporate them into our daily math lessons.
