This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager learners. My school services more than 900 middle schoolers each year. Over 3/4 of those young adults rotate through my class. They come from all walks of life and most speak multiple languages at home.

These young adults are eager to become more independent and feel like they are in control of their lives.

They love to be in the kitchen and they love to learn and eat! All things that make for great future chefs!

My Project

The use of stand mixers would impact so many young chefs in FACS as well as Cooking Club. The amount of foods we could create using a stand mixer and the attachments provided would greatly increase the learning in the FACS classroom.

Students would get to experience and learn real life bakery techniques and create foods they never would have thought possible.

Having this tool for students at such a young age really helps to build culinary confidence, grow a passion for cooking and foster independence in the kitchen. These mixers would help to prepare our students for life beyond middle and high school.
