Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students face the challenges of poverty on a daily basis. We are located in the southernmost region of the United States and live in one of the poorest counties in the country. These students, who wake up every morning wanting to learn despite the difficulties that they face at home, are who inspired and motivated me to post a project on DonorsChoose. I am honored and blessed to serve them and to be part of their lives. This is why reaching out to you is the least I can do to help them improve and be able to reach and experience the same opportunities that others have in our country.
My students manage to always have a smile and care for each other as much as possible every single day.

My Project
This project will help provide my students with face masks that will help them come to school on a daily basis with some peace of mind.
I have bought them masks so far, but unfortunately I can't afford it at this time anymore.
Due to their age they constantly need a change of mask throughout the day because they sweat while they play outside or because they have runny noses.
I have learned throughout this time that the use of masks makes a great impact in preventing diseases to spread amongst them and this contributes to a better attendance rate and more academic achievements.
