Help me give my students notebooks, magnetic blocks, chips, and other incentive items to reward them for working through the summer in order to prepare themselves for algebra next year!
I know most teachers think so, but my students are really special! They have endured and persevered through Hurricane Michael and are approaching the coronavirus pandemic with the same strength and determination to come out on top. I am volunteering my time to distance teach until August 1st for any and all of my seventh graders that are willing to commit to completing our pre-algebra course.
I am proud to say that I've had twenty, so far, that have committed to working through the summer in order to ensure that they are prepared to take algebra in eighth grade!
I am tickled and so very proud of each and every one of them.
My Project
My students have volunteered to continue working through the summer in order to complete our pre-algebra course so that they are prepared to take algebra in the eighth grade. My goal with this project is to surprise and reward them by providing rewards weekly and hosting a raffle every two weeks. I want my students to know that their hard-work and dedication is not going unnoticed.
The requested items, Magees Magnetic Building Blocks, Builder Flakes, Sunchips multigrain chips, Slim Jim meat sticks, Everything You Need to Ace Math in One Big Fat Notebook, Math Art and Drawing Games for Kids, Connect Four games, Uno games, Fraction games, National Geographic Kits, Scratch Art Kits, and other items will be used to reward students for their diligent work throughout the summer.
I will include everyone that stays on track in a bi-weekly raffle drawing. I will also award weekly prizes based on time worked, mastery points earned, and other milestones.
