My Students

My third graders are the best and brightest in every way.

They come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

They love learning and growing together in academic areas. Nothing gives them a greater sense of purpose and self-confidence​ than when they are able to create using the concepts they have learned.

Whether they are using digital media to shoot an animated movie on the distributive property, or composing new music to go along with their latest work of art, third graders are inspired engineers with the potential to create masterpieces in every academic, scientific, and artistic area.

It is my desire as their teacher to break down any barriers brought on by a lack of supplies and provide them with all the necessary tools they need to be the true creators and problem solvers that they are.

My Project

Students need lots of practice to become good at something. Making practice fun and interesting helps students to want to practice! Games and manipulatives are fun! Students who enjoy their learning, want to learn even more. Objects that students can learn to solve problems and create their own take learning to new depths of understanding . Using those concepts in games and other situations help students to make sense of their knowledge. When students are actively involved in their learning, magic happens. And math really is magic! Nothing is better that seeing my students excited about the things we have learned.
