My Students

My students live a life of poverty. Most of them live in government subsidized housing. Some live with grandparents or other family members because their parents are unable to take care of them properly. They need new and exciting experiences to inspire them to learn. They need to know that people care about them. Please show them how much you care by helping us fund this project.

My students are an energetic and enthusiastic bunch!

Our classroom is a fun, safe place to learn. Students are thriving in this atmosphere. They are happy to enter because we have built a unique environment that enables them to be engaged in challenging tasks but encourages them not to give up.

My Project

My desire is that my students have a space that is specifically designed to allow for independent or cooperative inquiry and exploration. I want them to have a variety of materials readily at their disposal that will allow them to create projects that coincide with their learning.

A makerspace in the classroom will allow my students to learn at a deeper level because they are engaged in creative thinking as they go.

Having materials organized and in one place will facilitate this. I had the opportunity to see a makerspace in action during a recent school tour. The students were thoroughly engaged in creating robots that would be designed to solve a problem.

I want to create those amazing opportunities for my students. You can help me make this dream a reality. Please consider helping me light the fire of engagement into my young student's minds. Together we can make a difference!
