My Students
Students in my classroom are working on improving their reading skills. The students are below reading at their grade level and need support in small groups to improve their reading.
One way to help these students is through working on letters names and sounds and blending those sounds together.
My Project
I have magnetic letters in my classroom that I usually share with my students. This school year our students will be staring school remotely. Having their own magnetic letters and magnetic white boards at home will help them engage in a hands on way. They won't have to just watch me make the word, they can do it themselves.
When students are able to touch each letter it makes a connection to their brain in helping them learn the letter name and letter sound.
When they can also physically push those letters together it helps them say the sounds together and then read the word. It is so exciting to watch!
