Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our city has the highest ratio (of any city in America) of languages spoken relative to population, as stated by the Office of Family and Community Engagement.
This diversity creates a rich and inspiring environment for young artists and learners.
It is an environment of cross-cultural connections and varied sources of artistic inspiration.
These many art-loving students show their brightness, hope, and perseverance through new learning challenges. Art classes are taught from a mobile cart, but still, play a consistently important role as a release and vehicle of expression for these young learners.
My Project
Augmenting my three-tiered utility cart, outfitting it with useful tech accessories, will aid delivery and presentation of art materials in a fun AND functional way. These accessories will help structure lesson components and enhance student understanding, while whimsically building school cart-culture.
I seek funding for an LCD monitor to share tech resources for visual arts from my cart, including reference slideshows and visual timers.
I am also interested to equip educational arts-based magnets, LED lighting, wind-activated pinwheels, and a small toy snowplow to the front of the art cart.
Provided fun and functional upgrades for a worthy wagon of creativity, I will keep the casters greased and continue pushing this cart on its journey of art!
