Mrs. Pinnock from Brooklyn NY is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need pencils, markers and crayons to write, draw and build their imagination.

Have you ever entered a classroom where children are playing, talking and drawing to their little hearts content? Well that is my classroom. I see my student's eager faces each and every day as they come to school, excited about what the new day has in stored for them.
My students come in at the beginning of the school year scribbling on paper telling me that this is their mom, dad, pet dinosaur or themselves.
In September, a lot of these images look like lines all over the paper. As the year has progressed, each of these drawings have taken on a more definitive shape. My students are drawing fabulous pieces of art work with body shapes, backgrounds and most importantly detail to each of their subjects. I am so proud of what they have accomplished this year so far. I know that they will do so much more in the last few months of the school year.
In order for my students to have the supplies that they need to become artists, we need help getting more crayons, colored pencils and markers into the hands of my students. The crayons have run down to nubs and are hard for my students to see the different shades of colors. My students love crayons and looking at the many different shades of crayons that they can choose from for each color. These new construction paper crayons will enable my students to finally be able to draw on construction paper and show others clearly what they have drawn. Our markers are drying out. These are great tools for students who have little strength in their hands. They do not have to feel frustrated when they are drawing but not strong enough to make the colors come out strong in a pencil or crayon. The colored pencils will allow my more advanced students to learn about coloring lightly and darkly on purpose. They will have more choices as to the colors that they can use for faces and other images.
Your donation will help my students to continue telling their story to me and anybody who will listen, without skipping a beat.
They will continue to draw to their little hearts content, telling stories with pictures. You are giving them the tools with which they can express themselves.
