Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Art is a new frontier for most of my students as many have not been exposed to the art world as others may have been. All of my students are enthusiastic learners and are very high energy. They are very hands-on and love to create new things. They glow every time they realize that they have created something they never thought they could.
Art is a safe place for my students to discover new things and find incredible talents within their heart of hearts.
My Project
Markers are always a big hit in my classroom, however, we are limited on our supply. The marker set will ensure the entire year for us in marker supply. The oil pastels are a new frontier for my students and will give them a new medium to experience. The bingo daubers are something new for all of us and will be used in creating amazing mixed media projects. We will be using all these materials together to jump start our recycling collage projects. Our paper recycle bin is getting very full already and students will be using the oil pastels, bingo daubers, and markers to make the designs on the recycling materials.
