This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a school where students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. This year, every student in my school district was given the opportunity to all have multiple opportunities for music enrichment. As their brand-new music teacher, I think it is my job to provide them with as many experiences as possible.

My students are eager to learn new instruments and take their music knowledge to the next level.

Almost every day they ask me if we get to play instruments and they love when the opportunity to make music out of objects that they can find lying around their house. Every student is a musician in their own right, and I am lucky that I get to be the one to pull their creativity out of them!

My Project

We are requesting carpet markers which are great for movable classroom arrangements when seating is not readily available or needed. In our music classroom, we often need to have arranged spots, and this is such a great way for students to know where their assigned spots are. The carpet markers are a semi-permanent way that will not vacuum up and will keep the student's spots available.

My sixth graders will benefit from this the most because they are simply too big to sit on a small rug!

The carpet markers also are so amazing that students can't pull them up, so they will be there until the end of the year.
