My Project

My students embody a variety of cultures. As a music teacher, I strive to incorporate the music of these cultures in my lessons. Our journey through COVID-19 has brought us closer to our families & emphasized our cultural awareness. Being located in a state that borders Mexico, Mariachi music can be found all around us. The resources that would be purchased with this funding would help start a beginning Mariachi ensemble for students in grades 5th-8th. We hope this will eventually blossom to include upper grades in the near future.
