I teach middle and high school band in a high-needs community. The school district is very small and in an urban setting. Our students all receive free lunch and breakfast. Even though the school and community have financial difficulties, my students come to school eager and ready to learn. The financial hardships do not interfere with their desire to learn and be the best they can be.
I am very fortunate to teach in a district where the students want to excel and work very hard.
I am the marching band director in my school. Our band has grown from 10 students several years ago to 50 this year! The growth is great; however, we now have an instrument shortage.
We need a marching bell set for my percussion students.
My battery percussion section is full. I have percussion students who would love to march in the band. In concert band, they learn to play the drums and the bells. I have students expressing interest in playing the bells on the field. I would love to give them that opportunity, but we don't have a bell set.
This marching bell set will give all of my students the opportunity to play and march with the band.
