Our students come from diverse backgrounds and unite as Marauders at our International Baccalaureate World School. They excel in creativity, desire to learn, and continue to impress me with their flexibility in our classroom workspaces throughout the year.
Our community is growing and we continue to make gains as we implement the IB strategies.
As a product of my school district as a child, as well as my family, I'm happy to call my school home and continue to build community.
My Project
This will be our second year doing March Madness door decorations. The students will choose any college or university to decorate their advisory teacher's classroom door. The students spend time researching facts, logos, mascots, history, and other aspects of their chosen school. The doors will stay up during our state testing time period to give our students something fun to do ahead of the big tests and something to look at when they need a brain break during the coming testing times. Last year we did this activity and the teachers loved seeing the students engaged in an activity that inspired many students to continue or begin the conversation of higher education. Many of our students man be the first students in their families to attend college and the sooner we get them inspired the better off they may be.
