My students need readers and journals to help improve their basic reading skills. I am asking for games and puzzles to help with rhyming, segmenting syllables, and sight word recognition.
Every morning I stand at the door and greet my students when they come in my classroom. I feel it is so important to make that connection when the students so they know that we will have a great day in kindergarten.
My students are wonderful and deserve the best.
I teach at a Title 1 school, where the students receive 100% free breakfast and 100 free lunch everyday. Our school has a great staff who care about all of the children. Our school does not always receive the resources it needs, however, to reach all of our children. I am asking that you please help my kindergarten students and help get the project funded for the materials I am requesting.
My Project
I am requesting games to help my students with early literacy skills, so they can be on track for success. These are materials that will help with rhyming skills, segmenting syllables, and also to help with sight words. Included are sight word journals for each of my students. These journals will help my students practice writing and reading their sight words.
Getting this project funded will make a difference because my students are struggling with all of these skills.
Having materials in all of these areas will help my students feel successful in the classroom. I will use these materials when I am teaching students in my small group area and also they will use these materials when they are at literacy work stations. They will also learn to use these materials independently.
