Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are 4 years old. We are playing and learning everyday. They love to listen to stories and play and build with manipulatives.

My students are eager to learn; however, we are lacking in supplies.

Most of my students receive free and reduced lunch. Many do not have access to books or educational toys at home. Our school and I provided many supplies for my students at the beginning of the school year because their parents were not able to afford them.

My Project

My student love to build. We need more matipulatives for them to build and create. Design builders, shape builders and gear builders are open ended manipulatives where students can use their imaginations to create.

Movement is an important part of preK.

We move around to music several times a day. The movement CDs, scarfs and beanbags will add new movements to our day. Students listen and follow directions to the songs which helps their gross motor skills as well as their listening skills.

Playing and learning are equally important in preK. Learning numbers as well as counting out a given number are important math skills. The games are fun and will also help students to learning numbers and their quantity.
