My Project

My name is Mrs. Jackson and I am a learning center teacher who works directly with small groups of students K-5.

In our small groups we work on mastering specific skills through hands on and engaging activities.

After some experience, I have found that my 4th and 5th graders learn best through hands on, engaging partner games where they are challenged to work together to solve problems using the strategies and skills they have learned. I would like to purchase new materials for the students this year so they do not have to play the same games that they played last year. I often print out games onto cardstock so that they can be reused which is why I would like to purchase colored cardstock. I would also like to get fraction manipulatives for them to use during activities as well.

Our K-2 students will be working on phonics and reading skills. The past 2 years I have become trained in the Science of Reading and the importance of the connections in the brain in order to learn to read. I would like to get word mapping paddles for my students to use to practice critical phonological awareness and phonics foundational skills in a fun, visual and engaging way.
