"If it doesn't challenge you, then it doesn't change you!" As a teacher who loves teaching STEM, I am always looking for kid inspired challenges and visual experiences to give them glimpses into their own quest for being a lifelong learner.
Hooray!
I am back in Kindergarten for my third year and loving every minute. My wish is for each student to thrive in a STEM driven environment.
My students are an eager group of fabulous kindergartners who I am getting to know through 100% distance learning. My class is comprised of multicultural students with involved parents who all share one common goal: quality education. Most have transferred to our small community school because it is known to be one that fosters a love for academics in an engaging and successful way.
We are a California Distinguished School, and our district is Common Core ready; however, we are in need of updated school supplies to support and educate the 21st-century student.
My Project
When I envision having these hands on manipulatives in my digital distance classroom, I see students engaged and productive with the supplies. I see 100% student involvement and innovation with this project being funded. We will be using these manipulatives 5 days a week during our learning block 3, these activities will be a variety of teacher suggested activities and student driven projects. I will also give time for the students to show and explain using accountable talk to describe what they created during this classroom instruction.
Kindergartners you need a variety of hands on manipulatives to allow the student time to explore and create
I feel the materials that I chose for this donation will adhere to everyone's specific needs. It will assist students who struggle with attention and the wiggles. As, it will guide those who already love to build and create with giving them the tools to become 21st century innovators.
