Help me give my students manipulatives to work from home during this distance learning and extended school year time period. They need these items to help with math, reading, and to ease their sensory seeking needs.
My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. Their worlds have turned upside down with the lack of routine and structure most parents aren't fluent with at home. They come from low-income households and many do not have the resources to create the routines, visuals, and schedules for my students.
Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online.
They depend on packets and copying the packets from the computer onto a piece of paper. They are lacking in books that are on their level at their homes. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners and I love seeing their faces as their parents send me still shots of them trying their hardest via their phones.
My Project
Please help me give my students learning materials for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine as many can't handle the feel of a mask on their faces due to sensory issues.
My student needs books to read, the use of math manipulatives, fine motor items to help with the skills they are lacking, and sensory seeking items to use at home.
My students are used to daily routines, visual schedules, manipulatives, and sensory items at their disposal whenever they need them in the classroom. At home, they are lacking these items they use daily to participate in school.
