Manipulatives for School, and Home When Needed!

My Students

I teach two groups of 28 students in first grade. Half the day they are learning Math and content in Portuguese with a teacher from Brazil. The other half of the day they come to me so I teach language arts by teaching them how to read and to have discussions about books we share.

These eager first graders come into class so excited to learn.

They love listening to stories and love sharing what they have learned from the stories. They practice their retelling and sequence skills along with speaking and listening skills.

My Project

I am ordering plastic folders for my students to organize their work in. They would be able to take their work home and bring it back in an organized fashion. The bins will be to put their materials in, to also take back and forth from home to school in case there are any closures for Covid.

Students learn better with fun manipulatives like plastic animals, and ten frames that will help them have hands on opportunities to learn whether at school or at home.

The bins will help them keep the math manipulatives together and be able to grab manipulatives fast to play math games at their desks or at their homes.
