This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Every afternoon I set a timer for 3 minutes. I wait to build anticipation and when 50 eyes are glued to my raised hand I drop it and say, "Go!" Their pencils hit paper and they attack 100 math facts like it's their job.
My students are excited to learn everyday.
They are courageous scholars that are thirsty for knowledge and content. They want to know, they want to see, and they want to share. Right now we only have two sets of math manipulatives for an entire classroom. My students deserve more manipulatives so as to all have the opportunity to learn hands on.
My Project
I am requesting a math manipulatives library, a teaching clock, and a set of 36 dice. I see my students working collaboratively with math resources to better engage and access the content. I see my students having fun--taking the math lesson and create their own games and activities. I see small groups of students working on their own so that I can pull small groups and meet those students where they are in the most equitable way.
Your donations will provide my class with the chance to take the paper and pencil math learning they do now and run with it.
With a plethora of tools and hands on manipulatives, they will be able to learn more deeply and fully.
