My students are extraordinary 3-4 year olds ready to learn by exploring their classroom environment. The students attend state preschool in either the AM or PM session, with 20 children enrolled in each. Many come from low income, two household, or single head-of-household families. They are precious to me because each child brings in their unique personality and abilities. I feel overwhelmed with joy to know that I can provide a strong foundation to each of these children by providing a variety of learning opportunities.
These light table materials will benefit the students as they explore the properties of color and light while building math, language and science skills at the same time. They are going to be used by the students daily in small groups and during open learning time. Children can have the opportunity to explore and practice with everything from number recognition, counting, one to one correspondence, color patterns, sorting my type, and letter recognition. Using the theme-based approach, the materials will be rotated to accompany our weekly or monthly classroom themes, which is the best known way to facilitate learning for each child.
