Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello everyone, I work at a Tittle I school where most of our students receive free or reduce lunch due to their families' income. These students find school as a second home because they get food, a welcoming environment and some loving teachers and friends. Also, school is sometimes the only place where they are allowed to play outside since most of them live in a trailer parking lot. These kind of places have limited space and students are forced to do only inside activities
Our school is very supportive with all of our studentsand always tries to help as much as possible but unfurtunately is not enough.
There are just too many students under the same circumstances and the resources are limited.
Please help me get more resources so my students can maximize their learning.
My Project
Pre-k students always need constant engaging activities, at this age is extremely hard for them to focus on academic skills since all they want to do is play. But thanks to these items students can learn while having fun. For instance, my four year old students would rather look at an alphabet on a fish than a regular piece of paper. These materials keep them engaged and motivated at all times. In addition, the math manipulatives will facilitate the process of learning addition. Addition is a hard concept, especially for four year olds who have never been exposed to it, but by providing appropriate visuals and manipulatives the process should be a lot easier.
