Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is full of amazing students! It is a highly structured level 1 Special Education autism class, grades Kindergarten to 3rd grade. My students love manipulatives and sensory items. They are all special in their own way and enjoy coming to class and manipulating new and fun items!
They are so creative and love hands on items that they can use to broaden their creative minds!
My students love interesting things that can be used to build with. The more they have to do, the more they are comfortable and able to enjoy their environment.
My Project
My students spend a great portion of their day in our discovery area. They more they have to discover, the more their creative minds can explore. They all enjoy fun and different manipulatives. Since my students spend a portion of each school day in discovery, the more they have, the better.
Exploring is the key to a creative mind!
If my students only have a small portion of items to choose from and explore, they will become uninterested and not want to be in discovery. This is why I am asking for items to fill this area, this way, they can explore many things while they are there without becoming bored and enjoy being creative!
