My students need storage for our pencil boxes, notebooks, and math and reading manipulatives. We also need play money so that we can learn to identify and count coins.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I School in Orlando, Florida where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students face challenges every day coming from a low-income community and homes where English is not the first language. Yet, they come to school motivated and eager to learn. This drives me to make their educational experience as enjoyable as possible.
I thrive to make my classroom a home away from home for my students.
Donor's Choose is a great opportunity for my classroom to meet its full potential!
My Project
Our classroom needs a better way to store manipulatives so they are more easily accessible for students. We also need more play money and whisper phones for independent reading.
The open storage bins will allow my students to easily see which manipulatives are available and access them with ease.
We need more play money to use in games, center activities, math lessons, and as incentives during our money unit.
My students would also benefit from whisper phones to use during guided reading lessons. Students can read the books aloud to themselves while I work with one or two students at a time.
